The Rosenbauer HEROS-titan has been named as the exclusive fire helmet as part of the recently awarded PPE contract to Bristol Uniforms, spearheaded by Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and accessible to every UK Fire and Rescue Service.
Confirmation of the successful ensemble emerged recently following robust, thorough trials and tender processes of an unprecedented scale throughout 2016 and 2017, with the HEROS-titan being selected due to its high level of protection in conjunction with its comfort and balance for the firefighter.
“We’re delighted to be awarded as the fire helmet of choice as part of this contract which looks set to serve a large portion of the UK PPE market.” commented Rosenbauer UK Equipment Specialist, Gareth Johns, “We’ve worked tirelessly throughout the trial processes to ensure Bristol’s high standards were met and we’re now looking forward to working as efficiently as possible with them throughout the next eight years as we collectively continue our quest to ensure maximal performance and comfort for the country’s firefighters, whilst simultaneously providing the highest protection level possible.”
The Framework will supersede the previous ‘South East Consortium’ framework which, for the past eight years, has used Rosenbauer’s former market leading HEROS-xtreme fire helmet. Following an increase in helmet technology, the HEROS-titan offers increased protection with a far lower weight and a subsequent increase in firefighter comfort. The ‘titan’ also boasts further improvements with an upgraded LED torch, increased balance and uprated aesthetics.
